Decomposition Facility
Ontario Tech University's Decomposition Facility is dedicated to conducting vertebrate decomposition experiments in a realistic outdoor environment. The facility is located on university land and allows you to conduct experimentation using analogues for human decomposition.
You will investigate the effect of environmental parameters (e.g. temperature, moisture, soil and vegetation type) and other taphonomic agents (e.g. insect and scavenging activity) on the decomposition process. Research in this facility is restricted to Applied Bioscience graduate students and fourth-year Forensic Science students.
