Title: Reliable Multicast Trees

Abstract: We study the problem of improving reliability in multicast trees for peer-to-peer nodes in scenarios where nodes may join and, in particular, depart or fail in an ad hoc way. We formulate a precise definition of reliability in multicast trees, which is the quantity we wish to maximize. We also have an implementation based on the twisted framework of a multicast tree construction algorithm that builds a primary tree and a back-up tree that is constrained by certain properties to increase reliability.
